how to sanitize soft baby toys with batteries? my baby likes to chew on his soft toys so i would like to sanitize them. how do i sanitize his soft, battery operated toys?

Soft Baby Book/Toys to add Family Pics too? Is there such thing or can anyone tell me where I can get one of those soft/plastic baby books where you can add your own pictures to it. Would you re-wash the soft cloth toys to get the food smell out? My kind husband washed our baby's soft cloth toys with a wash wrag (soap and water of course). Then, placed them to dry laying on a towel. I smelled the toys and they smell kind of like food. He used the same washcloth that he used to wash dishes and wipe the counters off with on the toys. Most of them say on label "surface washable only". Do you think I could still put them in the washing machine on gentle cycle? A friend thinks this will be ok if I put them in pillowcases first. Why do toy companies make toys for babies that you can't wash in the washing machine? My daughter has a little bunny that has teething rings for the hands and feet, I picked her up from daycare yesterday and it was covered in peas from her lunch. I took it home to wash it, and read the care directions on the tag, it said not to immerse it in water. So I "spot washed" it as best I could with some organic non toxic baby detergent. At what age did your baby develop an interest in toys? My baby girl is two weeks four days old. We've introduced a soft rattle to her and a tummy time/lay on back play center, neither of which is she interested in. She looked at the rattle for a bit, then got distracted. I was washing toy containing PVC with other soft toys and drying them together in dryer? I was using for 10 months already Stretch the Giraffe lamaze toy. My baby is teething and she put her toys all the time in her mouth. I was washing this toy together with other soft toys and then drying it in dryer. This toy was listed as one of the safest on healthytoys.org, Couple day ago I checked with Lamaze and found out that toy is BPA free, but internal squeaker is PVC. When toy was warm machine washed and dried in dryer due to high temperature do you think it released any harmful chemicals and somehow they got in my baby mouth when she puts those toys in her mouth? Using Baby Toys For Puppies? We recently adopted a puppy who really doesn't enjoy 'normal' dog toys. He dislikes squeakers, isn't a fan of KONGs unless its someone elses and he'll only play with a ball if you're throwing it. We went out on a limb and bought a few baby toys for him to play with and he seems to really love them. What is the best way to stop a dog obsessing about soft toys? My dog goes a bit mental and gets very excited when there are soft toys around. Normally this wouldn't be a problem as we don't have any in the house, however I am soon going to have a little baby nephew so I need to train my dog not to try and take soft toys! I highly respect Victoria Stilwell from "It's me or the dog", however I have seen a few different methods she has used. Should I sit a teddy on the floor and say to my dog to "leave" and when he breaks his eye contact with the teddy, reward him? Should I make a high pitch sound everytime he goes near the teddy and then reward him when he leaves the teddy? Any ideas would be welcome. Thanks Helen P.S. My dog is a male dog so phantom pregnancy is not a possibility (we have had a bitch previously who has had that problem) He does have toys, he has bones, tug of wars, a tyre, squeaky toys, bones, all sorts. When i was about six months old i was given a soft toy (a mouse). It was my favourite toy ever. I am looking for a lullaby cd for my baby? I am looking for a lullaby cd that has the same sounds and tunes that a mobile makes that you hang over the babies crib. It is almost like the sound of a triangle instrument. My cat is jelous of my baby!!!! HELP.? I think that my cat is jelous of my daughter who is 4 months old.... To start with she has taken to sleeping in her cot, which I do not like as I've heard that cats carry a disease that can be harmful to babies and there is the risk of suffocation but most of all I just don't like her leaving her fur etc in my babies bed. I have told her off and removed her from the cot what seems like 100 times and she knows she isn't allowed in there. If i come to the door and she's in the cot she will jump out and run away real quick. Anyways I've been shutting the cat in the kitchen dinning and lounge room at night (she has access outside through her cat door) and she has now started weeing on things inside including items of my babies, her soft toys etc... and kitchen bench I really do , well did, like my cat but now i don't want her in my house. How do you spend time with baby? I'm a Mr. Mom taking care of a 2 mo. old boy. (He's awesome!) Right now, he's on a 4 hour cycle: feeding, "playing", sleeping. How should I fill his waking hours? Right now, during daytime hours, we "talk" (5-10 min.), "read" a book (soft baby book, 15 min.), "exercise" (pull up to sitting and standing and "walking" using his reflex leg movements, 5 min.), and play with a mirror toy (by Sassy; $10 well spent! 15-20 min.). Then I put him to sleep in the Bjorn when he indicates that he's sleepy (tired, cranky crying). Am I too worried about his intellectual development? I worry that I'm not doing enough. I also feel guilty when I feel tired and reluctant to do these things. Monkey Girl: I developed this sched on my own. You could say that my son and I developed the sched together: I try to read him and then I insert whatever activity that I think fits. I have heard about "alone time" for baby, but my guy is seems sociable: he doesn't like being alone for long.

Is it normal for a baby to get his canine teeth in first? My baby is 5 1/2 months old, he started teething at 2 months. He has no teeth in yet this morning I stuck my finger in there to check and I felt something like a tooth but it's not one of the incisor teeth it's a canine or a molar. It feels like a tiny sharp thing (rice grain kind of like that tiny) I've heard that when a baby gets their canine teeth in first it takes longer to cut then just a regular incisor tooth, it's also more painful. My baby cries some days like he's in very bad pain and keeps shoving thing sin my mouth, he bites us, he holds on to our hands and tries to shove our hand in his mouth, chews on he's blankets, toys,spoons(soft baby spoons) Also is it normal that he's taking so long to cut his first tooth? I try giving him damp washcloths to chew on but he doesn't like them. I haven't seen what this tooth if he has it yet looks like, because he wont open his mouth wide enough for me to peek. Yes we got the tablets a few days ago, they do help at night time.
