how to clean and sanitize wooden baby blocks? our daughter is potty training and doing quite well, but she still has accidents. Well, she's had an accident on some of her toys including some wooden blocks with letters on them that she got for Christmas last year. I want to clean them but am unsure what to use on them so that I don't ruin them. Anyone have an advice. The letters are in color so I don't want that coming off. Anyone with experience on this one?
Wooden Toys Or Plastic Toys? Plastic From China May Contain Lead? After over 1 million recalls this year would still continue to by toys that are made in china? What do you think of wooden toys? Recalls: Infantino Sling (owned this) Dora Explorer Toys Baby Einstein Blocks (owned this) Kolcraft Pack And Play Fisher Price Take Along Rainforest Swing Laugh & Learn™ Kitchen Toys Soft Blocks Tower Toys (on Graco® Baby Einstein® discover and play™ Activity Centers)\ Learn-Around™ Playground Activity Center Fisher-Price Recalls Infant Musical Toy Chair Posing Strangulation Hazard And Tons More I have desided to buy my baby for Christmas only wooden toys. Baby overhead toy, what's it called, read more for a description!...? I cant remember the name of the overhead baby toys that has the same base as a swing though much much smaller. It often has toys hanging off it that they can reach and touch/pull etc. They are often plastic though I want a wooden one. I want a wooden one, where can I find good wooden toys? Thanks! No not a mobile.... Sorry I just find what I am looking for, its a wooden play gym!
What is your baby/toddlers favorite toy out of these listed? Blocks(wooden, basic ABC blocks)? Baby Dolls? Cars/Trucks? Play food/Kitchen? Fisher price little people? Peek-a-blocks/Roll-a-rounds? Shape sorters? Ride-ons/trike? Rattles/teethers? Link-a-doos? Rocking horses? Art sets(crayola wonder)? Slides/Swings? Building blocks(Mega blocks)? Kids meal toys? Or if something different, list it please.
what were your babys favorite toys? around age 9 months? I am always on the lookout when I go to the store for new toys for my little man. Lately he is most interested in things I have at the house like bowls, ladles, pans, boxes... you get the idea. But I want him to play with toys!!! What toys did your babies like the most? Also, what is your take on wooden toys?
wooden / non plastic baby activity gym? I'm looking for a wooden / non plastic baby gym for a 6 month old must be something the baby can sit / stand in and the person I want it for is very particular that the frame nor any attached toys are plastic. Have looked everywhere!! The only similar thing i can find is the Baby Einstein but it's plastic :( Any help much appreciated! Thanks to all for your help havent found what i was looking for but convinced it doesnt exist!
Why do I even bother with buying baby toys? His favorites are as follows: an old keyboard from a computer, an empty Cheez-It box, six empty yogurt containers (washed, of course), his carseat, a large green plastic cup, a piece of string with large wooden beads on it, a wooden spoon, and an empty box of wipes. This stuff keeps him entertained for HOURS. But, put him under the $70 entertainment center that Grandma bought, and he's bored within minutes. Give him the $10 scrunchy blanket/teething thingie, and he throws it and goes for the yogurt containers. Well, Christmas and his birthday should be a breeze, now that I know he likes trash so much. So, what's your baby's favorite non-baby item, and least-favorite baby item?
Is it okay to buy the wooden blocks? My son is 9 months old and he loves to play with those small cardboard books and some plastic shape toys. I was thinking a great toy for him would be the wooden blocks with letters and numbers carved in them. I went to the store today and found some but they said ages 3+. I really couldn't think of a reason for this. They are WAY too big for him to get the whole thing in his mouth so I cant see a choking hazard. It said the paint was nontoxic and it doesn't chip.. what gives? Do you have any wooden toys for your infant? I feel like I'm missing something here... is there something bad about letting a baby play with wooden toys? Everything in the store that was wooden had ages 2 or 3 and up on it. thx.
How concerned should I be about household "hazards" (toys, plastics, etc.)? Okay I think there is a plot to make me lose my mind. I buy those expensive little wooden train cars thinking they're good because they're not plastic, and it turns out they're painted with lead paint. Now yesterday there was a big article in our paper saying about the baby bottles and toys containing a dangerous kind of plastic. How concerned should I be about these things and what steps do you think I should take if any, to protect my family. I have two small kids in the house. Thanks
I need ideas to decorate my baby's room.? I'd like to use toys (wooden blocks, rubber duckies, other classic toys) to decorate the baby's room in a creative way. We don't want to use the prepackaged rooms from the big stores. Any ideas?
What are some fun, easy to make rat/rodent toys that are not harmful to them? I have looked and looked for some great toys for my ratties, but have never seen anything that really intrigues me! I am scheaduled to get two new baby boys in November and I would like some toys, as my rats are known to be the most spoiled! I have one cage that has three cages combined; a tall wire one, a short wire one, and a wooden house connecting them. I was thinking of some fun climbing toys or something that will excercise their strong rattie muscles... but anything else would also be appreciated! Thanks!
Do you buy all those expensive toys and gadgets for your baby? I was having a conversation with my friend about how often people waste money on all those elaborate toys and gadgets for their babies when more babies are just as happy playing with wooden spoons. It was kinda hypocritical of my to be saying that because I do buy my daughter all kinds of crazy toys and things. I don't really know why I do it...I wanna make her as happy as possible, but in the back of my mind I know it doesn't make a difference to her if she has a flashy, talking robot or a set of car keys :) Why do you think we spend so much money on things like that? Is it mostly for our benefit and peace of mind or for our kids?
What toys did/are you getting your baby for their first bday? I've been looking at what to get my baby girl for her first bday in 6 weeks. I want it to be really neat and special. I've been eyeing this toy at Target called the B. Zany Zoo wooden activity cube. I'm curious if other moms think this would be a good gift for her? I think she would love it and it's really a nice toy that should last a long time. Please check it out and give me your opinion. http://www.target.com/s?keywords=B.+Zany+Zoo&searchNodeID=1038576%7C1287991011&ref=sr_bx_1_1 What did you get our baby? Also my parents (her nana and poppop) asked me what Milania might want. I've told them maybe the baby go go walk and ride toy. I really want her to get this too!
What toys are good for 16mth old? Hi, I feel that our little one needs some new toys, some are looking a bit baby-ish and some he is just bored with, what do you suggest? He has shape sorters, and a few wooden peg shape things, a play table with music and lights and a few big plastic things with music keys and lights and buttons, trucks, cars, a load of books, toy phones, speaking soft toys etc - what can I buy him?
What are your 12-18 months old baby's favorite toys? My daughter is 12 months old and it seems that she is getting tired of her toys. She has stacking cups and rings, the Leap Frog music table, a walker, tons of books (she still likes them), 2 or 3 little electronic toys (she doesn't care for them much), a doll and a teddy bear. We recently bought her a pound a ball toy and she loves it, but I can't find anything else in stores or online that I think will keep her attention. She already plays with plastic containers, wooden spoons, etc and other than that, she only wants to have things that are not toys (remote controls, drinking cups, etc). I would really like to buy her a few new toys, but need some suggestions.
safe toys for babies? What are some safety risks of toys that could harm infants and young toddlers? Apart from choking on small parts, loud toys and splinters from wooden toys?
Please tell me. Why is it...? ...that when I put my baby on the floor, with two zillion baby toys, wooden spoons, plastic cups, etc. for him to play with, he makes a beeline for either a.) the entertainment center with all the wires in the back, or b.) his dirty diaper pail? Why is my baby so irrational? I tried to reason with him, but he's just not hearing it. :P
Does a "made in China" label make you think twice when shopping for your children? I just read about the new toys to be recalled...and I'm sure it's not over yet by far.. I was shopping for toys for my baby boy however the other day and it's almost impossible to find anything NOT made in China! I guess it's time to go to smaller quality toy stores that sell safe wooden toys etc.. I am not saying everything made in China is bad but unfortunatly I can't know what is and what's not and the safety of my son comes first so I'll avoid "made in China" labelled stuff at least for a while. (I wonder if Mattel can recover from this) How does this affect you?
What would you do with the baby books? I have been cleaning my basement out for over a week now sorting threw all the things that just ended up down there; I even came across a bag of garbage meant to be put out years ago for the garbage man to collect! I have gone as far as polishing the ceiling beams and old wooden staircase, and washed the crumbling floor. I finally made my way to the back of the basement where large plastic bins were. I forgot where they came from. Upon opening them I found a few bins of my toys, clothes and other things from when I was a child. I am surprised that the bins in my damp moldy basement kept everything like new inside. I came across a box with my old pictures and baby book. My parents are both passed away now and seeing them young again lightened my spirits and made my heart beat a bit quicker with joy. In the box are also my sibling’s baby books. My one sibling brought sexual abuse and I was beaten by her first husband who knocked out a front tooth to add insult to injury. She has whined a life time that my birth ruined her life because I made her a middle child. When I put my guard down she steels from me even though she is married a wealthy man forty years her senior. My brother gets angry and insists I am selfish for wanting the stolen items back so through the years I distanced myself from them, I used to keep contact because that made our mother happy, our father died when I was young (and I am quite a bit younger than my siblings). Also my sister has destroyed most of my baby pictures and will not let me have any copies of the ones she has of our parents. The books I found are full of pictures I didn’t realize I had. My dilemma is that when mom made these books, they were made for my siblings out of the goodness and innocence of mom’s heart. If you were me, would you sent the books to my siblings or just save them and give them to my nephews in the future. (I am a history buff kind of person and I always preserve memorabilia, I donated to the local historic society much from the old house I bought) .
Work from home.. painting models.? I once saw a while ago a company on the internet that sold like little models, and things like baby toys (made out of wood etc). Now they had people who worked from home painting certain wooden toys. The company would make the models/toys, and then send them out to their painters. They would provide paint etc. Once the painters had painted them, they would send them back to the company and they would get paid as and when they paint models/toys. Any idea of who does this nowadays?
Don't the Celtics have the funniest looking players in the NBA? Ray Allen looks like an alligator Rondo looks like and alien Garnet looks like a raptor Perkins looks like a wooden toy puppet Davis looks like a big baby (perfect nickname and he acts like one too!) Paul Pierce, I haven't got that down yet. He definitely looks like a cartoon character with that cap on his too though. Help me out on this please.

baby-gate trama drama? My hubby and I have 3 girls ages 4 1/2, 2 1/2 and 3 weeks. Our 2 1/2 year old used to have a wooden baby gate in the doorway to her room to keep her from wondering the house before anyone else woke up.It proved to be inadiquate. She would climb over it using a toy ride-on push car.So we upgrated to a large plastic swinging gate. She did well for about a week and we thought that our problems were over...we were very wrong. My hubby is an MP in the military and has recently gone back to work leaving me home with our girls up to 9 hours a day. We've tried to double up on the baby gates stacking one on top the other but she just pushed the top one down and climbed over the other. My question to any mom or dad out there is how to keep her from getting out of her room without tieing her down or locking her door?
Do have any new ideas for abc plans nursery 2? I have ran out of ideas. I have exhausted the classics: play doh, slime, pop-up toys, Small foam blocks, Hit-a-ball, Assorted Puzzles, Dinosaurs on green hill, small wooden blocks, baby dolls, peg boards, kitchen corner, shopping corner, cars, trains on train tracks, pizza with mini tongs, musical instruments age group: 15months-2 years or is predictability a good thing?
Why has my baby bunny cut back on food, and what can I do to help her? I have a 9 week old baby Holland Lop that has been with me for 2 and a half weeks. She started to eat right when she got to her new home, but this past week she hasn't been eating much. She really likes to eat carrots and still does (only a little bit though) and she still drinks water, she can eat from the floor, but she won't eat in her bowl!!!! I've bought a wooden toy, hoping that she will chew on it and file her teeth down, thinking that she isn't eating too much because her teeth are getting in the way. But i'm not sure what to do now! What is wrong with her and what can i do to help? Please help me! Thank you... my bunny and I really appreciate your help!
My 2-yr old baby girl fell on her face again!!!? The first time, several months ago, a nasty fall into a wooden toy crib left a scar right next to her eye. Tonight, she tripped and hit her mouth on the toilet bowl while my wife was giving our older boy a bath. The inside of her lip is quite cut up, but the part of it that bothers me is a little cut right above her lip. It looks almost as though one of her teeth peeled off a small portion of flesh. My wife already feels guilty about the first cut because it happened under her supervision. She is currently inconsolable, and I am trying to tell her that this one won't leave another scar. But now I am unsure. I don't think we need to go to the doctor. I am just venting because I don't have anything to say that will make my wife feel better, and I hate the thought of my beautiful baby girl walking around with blemishes on her face. I don't want it to affect her self image for the rest of her life. What should I do?
Ideas for Baby Girl's First Birthday Presents? I am needing some ideas for my baby girl's first birthday. She is very spoiled and already has tons of toys. We have 2 closets of clothes for her. I am having a really hard time thinking of things to get her. The only thing I can really think of is maybe one of those big wooden playground sets.. Any ideas are appreciated.. Thanks

I have to boys and they have tons of books, toys, and wooden puzzles..im looking for some good ways to organize them with them having easy access...but it has to be safe because my youngest is 19 months. any suggestions on how to store these items in an organized fashion??
Re: HABA pacifier chain: I am soooo livid right now! I need advice!? Several months ago I bought my daughter one of those HABA pacifier chains. It's basically a thick red string with a bunch of wooden, non-toxic toys strung on it. On one end is a loop to attach the pacifier on to and the other is an alligator clip to clip it onto her jacket or carseat, stroller strap, etc. Well, earlier today my daughter, Avary, (now 11 months old) was playing in the kitchen in her walker while I was doing dishes and stuff and the HABA clip with her paci was clipped onto her overalls. I heard her make a little gagging sound and I figured she had just stuck her fingers down her throat a little too far or something like that. I walked over to her and leaned down to check on her and play for a minute in between my work and I noticed something blue in her mouth. I pried her little mouth open and pulled out a piece of the pacifier chain (the size of a blueberry)! It seems to be the nose of the yellow wooden bear on the chain. My daughter was able to pull it out of the bears face and was so close to swallowing it and choking!!! It scared the heck out of me! I can't believe such a reputable company would have such a dangerous toy on the market. There have been so many times she has been in her carseat in the back of the car with that same chain attached to her harness. If it had happened then she would have choked for sure, maybe to death (I'm sorry, I'm so upset about this I am crying right now)I looked online and they have tons of these pacifier chains in all different styles, being sold all over the internet in all kinds of boutique stores and all the nicer toy shops around my area in CT sell them too! I paid over $12.00 for this thing and to think how eaisily it could have choked my daughter today, maybe worse, I am sooooo angry! What do you think I should do? What would you do? I want to shout it from the rooftops to let everyone know not to buy these things. I want to demand a recall but I wouldn't even know where to start. Does anyone have any ideas how I could go about handling this issue? I would really appreciate any opinions or assistance. Thanks so much in advance! -Stacy Here is a link to the paci chain I am talking about. Mine is almost the same as thisbut with one more piece on it. The yellow bear is the same and it's his blue nose that she almost choked on. http://www.moolka.com/jzv/prod/2261/Haba/Toys/Baby+Toys/Pacifier+Chains/Pacifier+Chain+Teddy Thank you everyone for your answers and support. LC - She does suck her thumb when she is tired and trying to self soothe. But she still likes to play with the pacis and suck on them sometimes when she is teething - especially the Razzberry ones and her new Teethifier that is for teething the back teeth. They are not normal pacifiers - they are specifically made for teething. But thanks for the suggestion.
Brio Toys? I just got my American Baby magazine, and inside was a wonderful wooden train set. The manufacturer is Brio Toys (www.brio.com). I went to their website and some other websites that carry Brio Toys. However, I am unable to find the train set in the magazine. The train set is a wooden track that stores in a red, white, and blush plush horse. It has three little wooden horses as trains. There is also a red ramp with yellow accents and red and yellow end pieces for the track. Can anyone help me locate a place to buy this set? And, yes I've trie ebay.
Does anyone know where I can buy (new or used) the Musical Fantasy toy by Kouvalias? This is a wooden toy made in Greece by Kouvalias. The company I believe has gone out of business, because I can't find the toys online new, but I'd be willing to buy a used one. I've checked Craigslist and can't find one there either. It is a musical toy that has a round base with lots of springs with brightly colored balls on the ends of the springs that turn as it plays a classical tune. I had this toy as a baby and loved it. I now have a three month old and I have my heart set on finding one for him. Any help would be greatly appreciated!
are you hand making your CHRIST-mas gifts this year? I am doing all of them by hand this CHRIST-mas due to money being tight and the baby. I think Jesus would aprove that we are taking the COMERCALIZATION out of His Blessed Day. Jayden is getting a knitted sweater, and hubby bill is making him wooden toys, like the old days! all done with love, care and thought. What are you doing? lining satans pockets? Think about it. Who will be having the more wholesome CHRISTmas? hmmm?
we miscarried and brung the baby home? when i miscarried a month ago we decided to bring the baby home instead of just letting the hospital throw the baby away, i was 2 months but the baby had its eyes and arms and hands and had its legs but did have the feet yet, i havent told anyone yet that we brought the baby home, we bought a itty bitty wooden box painted it and put a miniture wooden heart, bottle, and toy in it. i know all of it sounds so creepy but i cant let go and see nothing wrong with it, and we named the baby jaime (boy or girl name) and we still have jaimes clothing that we had bought i cant bear to give them away to anyone. it just seems right to me, my baby was beautiful and it kills me i dont have my child. and it been a month and i have 2 year but i just feel gone, anyone have advice or comments erika ur a horrible person to think thats inhumane i think its inhumane for the hospital to dispose of my child like trash i did what i felt what right i was taking my baby with me and FOR YOUR INFORMATION no they did not offer a burial option. i was 2 MONTHS along they didnt give 2 shits about my baby they called jaime a speciman and no there was no smell jaime was barely an inch long jaime still all tissue no bone yet, jaime bacially just soaked away into the tissue that we brought him or her home in, so dont tell me what u think u know
Lead paint in IKEA toys? I just bought some toys at IKEA from the MULA line. One is a roller coaster with wooden beads and the other is a tow wagon filled with blocks. The blocks and beads are painted and it says it was made in China. I can't find any other information on this anywhere. Now I wish I would not have bought them. Though IKEA is a European company and is very popular (and so I assume they do not want any recalls due to paint), I can't be sure that these toys are safe for my baby. Does anybody have any more information? Thank you!
y is it that i buy my son every single toy n he's happier with a wooden spoon?!? lol silly question i know. my son has soo many toys n he's only 7months. he's got every teether n rattle of practically each animal, shape, size n colour. he's got soft toys, balls, playin mat, walker, swing, bouncer. he's got an electronic book, spinning thing (alphabet) n catipillar with colours n numbers (all form leap frog) n dsnt seem bothered with any of them! (apart from teh spinnin thing, he loves spinnin it. i also hav BeBeTv on all day n he loves "shaping up" -- is a programe bout shapes lol. today he was cryin n i grabbed a wooden spoon n started bangin on an empty formula tin n he stared in amazement. i gave it to him n he tried! he then held the spoon away form him n every time he moved he he was in fits of laughter! he also loves it when i put the telephone on speaker n he hears the tone lol! well since this should be a question : has ur baby taken more interest in household appliances etc rather than their toys? n if yes then what? im curious with wat else would amaze him! lol oo how swt! -- o ye n he also loves bangin on the keyboard when im on the computer.. he thinks its funny when he closes something for me i guess!
I have a 10 month old Chihuahua. He chews up everything, how do I make him stop? We put him in a cage when we leave the house. We've tried squirt bottles. He chews up my underware, bras, pj bottoms, the baby's clothes and toys, plastic hangers, paper towels, toilet paper, etc. He sneaks the stuff under our bed. We even tried blocking him from being able to go under there, he found a way. It's getting old. We even tried gating him in the kitchen, but he ate through the wooden gate and climbed over the 3 foot metal child gate and mesh gate. HELP!!!!!!! Also, he's housebroken and hides and pees from time to time under the kitchen table or our bed. How do we stop that? I'm tired of steam cleaning. he is crate trained as well as litter box trained. Giving him away is not an option. Can't spray anything on the stuff because it's clothes and baby items he chews on as well. he shreds toys. We had a bunch for him and he destroyed them all. He has toys still, but they don't distract him enough, but they help. He is NOT locked in a cage all day, I'm a stay at home mom. He's in the cage for 4 hours MAX if we need to go out. He goes out ALL the time. We let him out every 15 mins to half hour. He goes potty, but now and then, we still find pee spots. He gets the clothes by climbing into laundry baskets. Also, he's learned to open the sliding closet doors. We rent, so we are limited on being able to change the doors. We put everything out of his reach as best as we can. He finds ways. The house is kept VERY cean. He leaves my son's and husband's stuff alone though. He is much harder to train then the labs and Newfoundland I had before. He is neutered. Had it done at 5 months of age When we leave, he's kept in his cage where he has a toy with him. He usually just goes to sleep. He cna't be left alone loose in the house. He chews when he's around us. Doesn't matter if my undies/bras/pj bottoms are clean or dirty, he LOVES them. EWWWWW!!!!!! he thinks of me as "mommy". We bought him when he was 4 weeks old and routinly visited him till we were able to bring him home at 8 weeks. At that time, I was also in my last trimester with my daughter. He's great with her and even lays next to her on my lap or on the floor (he thinks she's a litter mate)
Help! How do I stop my cockatiel from chewing on everything? I have a cockatiel that is 10 months old. She chews on everything and poops everywhere. I love her but my husband wants to get rid of her because of this what can I do. How do I train her. I have tried puting her in her cage whenever she does something wrong but it is not working. She chews on wires, buttons on remotes. Anything rubber, paper, wood, plastic, shoelaces, zippers, toys. Basically anything she can get her beak on. She is out of her cage probably 4 to 5 hours a day. She is my baby. She follows me in the shower anywhere I go. As soon as she sees me she is marching to come out. She has 3 wooden perches, 1 swing and stairs, a cuttle bone and 3 toys in her cage. Her cage is 2 1/2 feet tall by 1 1/2 feet wide. I will try anything. Any feedback will be much appreciated. She has chew toys around the house. A basket a cork and 2 other rubber ones from the pet store.
Different rabbit toys? Any suggestions on a toy for a rabbit that ideally would fit on to the bars of his cage? (Like you get get baby activitiy things for the side of their cots. is there a similar rabbit toy?) Ive bought him the usual loofah balls/carrots/rattley things, but he just buries them in his cage. Hes so distructive, he tends just to chew on the mineral block things I have on his cage. When hes out of the cage, the only thing he plays with is these metal rings (left out by accident one day) and he just sorts them into piles. That or he finds cardboard to chew on. But Im just looking on ebay now, and all the toys they seem to have is just wooden chew sticks, or rattles. My own local pet shops tends to be the same. I am in the UK, and Ive had a look in pets at home (i bought him from there) but as you said it can be expensive, and Im a bit reluctant to buy one of their fancy toys for him to ignore. But thanks for that bunnybazzar site, having a look at it now. I have mineral chew things in his cage, because he bite it. I just dont want him being bored when im at work.
What toys did your children actually play with the most? I'm about to spend quite a bit of money on toys when our house closes on the 30th. I always go for wooden, fabric, very green companies and products, i.e. Rosie Hippos, Gummylump, Polka Dots,... I'm wondering what toys are real hits, getting tons of play. I don't believe in the gender toy debate, so I hope I don't generate that here. Females by nature are more nurturing, and relationships are, in my opinion, more important than construction or Science, so I'll state that right up front. It's hinged on worldview. All depends on what you consider to be a reason for existence and what you define as progress. My four sons play with building sets, art and creative supplies, figures, kitchen play (Chef), etc., so I consider all toys to be unisex. My son loves his baby doll, and tells narrow-minded, busy-body, strangers that he's learning to be a daddy. :o) So. Which toys are the winners in your house? Which ones lasted forever with the kids' interest? I mean, which were most used? By either sex? We do lean heavily towards dragons, gnomes, wizards, fairies, medieval, Egypt, and so on. Lots of fantasy and history. And we like lots of open-ended creative play. Thank you so much for your reply. Clare Very good answers. After asking a few parents locally, and thinking through what our lifestyle is like, we've decided to buy something to encourage outdoor play. Because we're buying land, we're going to build a structure, (balance beam, fireman pole, climbing wall, ball goal, tunnel slide, etc.), and also buy some farm-type pets. The older boys (our sons range in age from 1-15) have been in 4-H for 6 years, so we'll try rabbits or goats; something that they can show, sell... Thank you
How can i get my 6 month old chihuaha to stop bititng the walls and the corners of the walls? He's in a small area near the kitchen closed off by gates. there's one spot on the wall that he's been biting, and two wooden corners with bite marks. I scream "HEY" at him when I catch him, which he knows is something said to him when he's doing something he shouldn't be doing. he instantly stops and goes to his bed. He has chew toys in his room, as well as a wee-wee pad, his bed and his food and water. He comes to the living room to play with me a few times a day, and I sometimes take him out to the backyard. I know his baby teeth have not come out yet, and it looks like his big dog teeth are growing in little by little, but that's why I give him all his chew toys. I don't know if I should put something on the area he's been biting to deter him from doing it again, or if there's something i should do to him. Any advise is appreciated!

Though IKEA is a European company and is very popular (and so I assume they do not want any recalls due to paint), I can't be sure that these toys are safe for my baby. Does anybody have any more information? Thank you!
Need honest opinions of my baby registries. Would love feedback. :)? So I'm trying to be conscientious of everyone and their budgets as I register for our first baby. I am currently listed for 2 (Target and Babies R Us) in hope that it makes for more convenient shopping for everyone involved. I'm having 3 showers (his family, my friends since I don't have family in the states, and work). We make more than his family, or mine and I want everyone to feel comfortable making purchases. I also don’t want anyone to feel as if I’m asking for too much. It’s a delicate topic. SO… Is this a good amount of product or too much? Is it realistic? Too expensive? If you were a guest coming to one of the showers would you feel as if I were being too greedy? Thanks so much in advance for your feed back! So that's taken care of. I'd buy it all myself, and don't really care if I have to. I just don't want to limit people. The only thing I might get sooner, rather than waiting is the carseat, since you never really know when you'll need it, and its kind of importaint.... Also failed to mention that I directly report to the owner and CEO of my company and I feel as if they'll get me a larger item for the work shower. So I feel as if I have to have something larger for purchase if that makes sense. Thanks for your “help.” I’m not really certain what you mean by obsolete as we plan on having more children and will therefore use these items again. Cribs and car seats aren’t disposable where I live… My registry is a list of items that I would purchase even if no one bought them for me. I don’t need gifts. I can buy this all and it won’t affect my finances. People would want to stab me, as people really do want to have a village feel in a new baby. I’d welcome any gift, and really even a card if that were all they can afford. It is not about the gift, it’s about celebrating my new baby! Oh, and thanks for adding all this up for me. Now that I see the total, it’s not that much. I have friends that have spent that much on baby furniture alone. But I guess this is like the Olympics and you’re the Russian judge that low balls and nitpicks, and who’s opinion just gets tossed out in the end. There’s always the bitter, jealous, negative-Nelly, and here and now it’s you… Good Luck.
Building a "dog pen" what kind of things should I put in it? I have 2 cocker spaniels and a basset. We have a fenced in back yard, but currently they are in a 10 x 10 pen during the day because they dig really deep holes in the yard when we're not home. I let them out at night to run, then they come inside to sleep. My husband has concrete set the posts to section off the back corner of the yard to allow them a 900 sq ft triangle section to run and play during the day, so they don't have to be in the little pen. I currently have a wooden pallet, water and food, a few chew toys, a rain cover and a dog house with a flap in the little pen. With the extra room, I could incorporate some "fun" things for them. I was thinking maybe a baby pool for the hot summer months. Does anyone have any ideas? He will be adding the chainlink next weekend, so anything big needs to be added before that. Thanks for your help. Sorry for the long post!

How to make guinea pig toys? ? I have 7 guinea pigs. I normaly buy loads of toys. Though i have reasontly been told by my mother, that i cannot buy any more. She said i can make some. Though they have igloos, and wooden boxs. I have 7 guinea pigs. For the meantime i have 4 cages. I have two pregnant guinea pigs. And the babies have been expected like a week ago. One of my guinea pigs has given birth a few months ago. And i have two fat boys. I have reasurched homemade toys for guinea pigs, though its hard because if i wont to make one i have to make four. Though i am prepared to do it. I am only 12, my mum works, and i have a sister though, she wont help me :) I can sow, (kind of.. ) i was never tort, though its easier than people say. I was thinking of making a cossie cup. Though my mum wont buy me material. I can understand why. Because she pays for food, and cages. And medical check ups. Do you think that the gov. should provide $$ means to provide testing of home based products sold? What christmas movie is this? ok so it is a cartoon it has been around for a while now because i remember watching it every christmas for like ever but i cant think of the name of it. so well it starts out it is like this baby is found in the woods by these faeries and a faerie girl adopts him as her own and names him nickolas. then he like grows up and he has this pet cat that he talks to. and he makes and paints these wooden toys of his faerie mom and his cat and then he gives them to these children in other towns and he travels from like the king fairy guy OH and he meets this princess girl that is very lonely bc she is just locked away in her room and all she wants is a friend so he gives her a toy cat and she is extremely grateful. and he meets this cripple kid and becomes friends with him and then he gets really old, but he does something to make him like live forever OH and he borrows these rain deer from this old guy so he can deliver gifts to everyone without the fairy king and then eventually he gets the name saint nick and then santa claus sooo... i really want to find out the name of this movie bc i watch it every year at christmas time and i have been for years and years so if you know what it is plz help!!!!
My baby likes to teethe on cement and metal? Anyone heard of this? One of my twins likes to bite the cement block that goes around our fireplace. I bought one of those guards but my twins tore it off in seconds, and then he immediately went to bite it again. I bought one of those expensive safety gates, and he likes to teethe on the metal of that. He also will teeth on the metal pieces of the wooden safety gate. I have bought several teething toys for him, and thought maybe he just likes to teethe on these things because they're cold but he is disinterested in frozen ones too. He keeps taking the jar lids to bite on them, and constantly teethes on metal things. I have 7 kids and never heard of this! Oh, ped just laughs and says maybe he'll outgrow it. But I'm just so astonished! It's not a mineral deficiency, and his iron levels are perfect. He doesn't have pica - my babies are brilliant, advanced like my other kids and are definitely not retarded or autistic in any way. He is very active & verbal, and my twins are beginning to sing along to songs & beginning to learn sound the alphabet at 10 mos. It's not pica or anemia!
I need help with this poem? A happily married couple, Joseph and Mary by name . Enjoying an afternoon ride on their mules through Bethelem's plain. Mary soon felt the need to find some place for their baby's birth Mary's consent was soon to be born for to everyone on earth No room for them in the inn, but the song in their hearts endure Joseph and Mary joyfully prepare Jesus' manger. Their joy joined by the angels singing glory to God above. Shepards at night, the three Kings the next day, found eternal love. Happy Birthday beautiful Jesus, The whole world is singing to you , Santus Bringing to you gold, frankincense and myrrh Take and keep our love eternally pure God's own Holy Family for us to love Jesus, Mary and Joseph well thought of Feeding and dressing and helping Him grow Watching His first steps not stubing His toe Piggie back rides, hide and seek, peek-a-boo Relating Bible stories which are true Each day He grows to His parents delight Learning His lessons and doing whats right Soon Jesus is helping His mom and dad Jesus is wonderful which makes them glad Their little baby growing up so fast Running and jumping His young life a blast Daddy makes Him some wooden toy soldiers Toy chariots of Roman Brigadiers Mary and Joseph playing in the sand Jesus makes roads and caves holding their hand They like to go on long walks together. Looking for rocks, and some things to gather Colorful flowers, green trees and blue sky Selection of colors beautify Son, you must not make anymore mud birds Let them fly into the sky heaven wards When you're hungry come and take a seat No more changing rocks into bread to eat On the family trip to Jerusalem Jesus finding friends and playing with them Saw soldiers leading a man with a tree A wonderment for Jesus to foresee Is the flow of words good, ryming and meter okay
How do I stop inappropriate biting & chewing that my baby rabbit does? I understand that all rabbits chew and that my lil lion-head, Nibbler, is only a little over 3 months old, but I don't want him to get the idea that this is okay. Nibbler has a couple chew toys in his cage and when he runs around, he also has a wooden hidey hut he likes to burrow in and chew on. He's become social now and comes over to flop on my lap but when he does, will chew on my pants til they get a hole in them. Someone told me that tapping on the nose is cruel and causes too much pain for a rabbit, so I've tried lifting his face or petting him to distract him but neither works. He also will randomly bite me...hard. I think it's a curiosity thing because one day when I was sitting cross-legged he walked up to my foot, sniffed it, then bit my big toe, but it hurt! So what can I do to stop this? I'd really like to hear from experienced rabbit owners or breeders who have dealt with this problem. Thanks!
